Oiler/Entry Level Mechanic

Will be performing maintenance on and around construction equipment, such as: excavators, scrapers, pavers, motor graders, bulldozers, backhoes,

on highway equipment and light duty vehicles.

 

Educational Requirements:  High School Diploma

 

Job Requirements:  Valid California commercial drivers license with hazmat, tanker and

air brake endorsements.

 

Desired Knowledge and/or Skills:  Mechanical aptitude, team oriented people skills.  Self motivated, willingness to learn.  Ability to comprehend maintenance manuals.  Ability to reach multiple destinations by using a road map.

Essential Job Functions:  Fuel and lubing of equipment along with minor repairs and assisting in major repairs.  Ability to work unsupervised at times. Maintains written records of maintenance performed.

 

Other Job Functions:  When required, minor maintenance on the facility.

 

Physical Demands:  Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, fingering, near acuity, depth perception and visual accommodation .  Medium work strength rating.

 

Working Conditions:  Exposure to weather, dust and fumes.  Exposure to moving mechanical parts.  Frequent high noise intensity level.
